BMX Pump Track at Witton Park

Working with Blackburn with Darwen Council we have designed and built a small pump track to both encourage and challenge new riders. By small we mean the ride time!

In fact the circuit is 50m long by 18m wide and has rollers and berms and a table top to launch from. Its great fun to ride and when you consider the play value, its cracking value!

Pump tracks can be designed to fit space available and could be ideal for school grounds. They are maintenance free and can be used out of school also, ideal for encouraging health and fitness and skill, afterall, the idea is NOT to pedal, but PUMP. This is achieved by rocking and rolling and moving your body weight to move the bike back and forth. The speed is picked up with the berms and momentum as you travel around. Its great fun and we cant wait to see the new ‘Strider’ bikes being used on the Witton track, great balance bikes and a brilliant way to get young children confident and keen on cycling, they even have a ‘Strider’ race league.
