Meadowbank Childrens Centre

This playground construction scheme at Meadow bank Children’s Centre won a Commendation with Merit in Wigan Councils Urban Design awards Environmental quality category.

The site posed several issues that needed to be addressed before commencement of works, these included the segregation of staff and children from the works area, segregation of work area and car parking area, the delivery times for materials around peak times and the proximity of the work area to the school buildings.

The works included the excavation of a existing grass surfacing, installation of new play equipment, laying of wetpour surfacing and graphics, construction of play mounds, turfing and planting works and the installation of new 2.4 m high perimeter fencing with both double access vehicle gate sand single access pedestrian gates.
